The tripod has a maximum operating height of 59.05 inches and a minimum operating height with the standard center column of less than 20 inches. At a combined weight of less than 5 pounds it’s easy to move the tripod from location to location with very little effort. The tripod has a quick lever leg lock system using materials that compliment the concept of strength at a lighter weight. As a result, the composite material used to construct the leg locks is an engineer grade glass reinforced nylon resulting in a strong and durable locking system, while adding very little overall weight to the product.
The PH-1246 ball socket head is made of aluminum alloy and has calibrated tension control to balance the camera weight for smooth movement. The tension adjustable socket rotates 360 degrees horizontally and 90 degrees vertically. Two seperate knobs in the head are set for independent panning and tilting locks. It has a quick release camera mounting platform with a seperate plate lock adjusted by a knob and a camera safe pin. The coarse rubber padding located on the top of the mounting plate provides friction to prevent any sliding of the camera.
